Clogged A/C Drain Line Fix

I just fixed my clogged A/C Drain Line with a $1 piece of hose and my little wet/dry shop vac. That doesn’t look like much dirt in the bottom of the vac collection bucket, but it was more than enough to cause a clog in the line.
Feeling good about my old-man self. Ten minutes of my time and a buck for that 10" piece of tube, and I saved myself a couple hundred dollars on an HVAC service call.
What’s funny is, ten months ago, when I was still working, I would have just called the HVAC guy rather than attempt to fix it myself. Today though now that I'm retired a couple hundred bucks is better spent on a buggy full of groceries.

Cabin Fever

Just as I excepted would be the case, my wife is bouncing off the walls after only two days of practicing widely encouraged social distancing. Putting distance between her and the register at TJ Max is like capital punishment to her.
Since we're both seniors, it makes perfect sense for us to take extra precautions. If you read my post about 'Mask Wearing' you already know I wear a mask if I have to go out - I receive Chemotherapy treatments ever two weeks for Brain Cancer.
Anyway, my little guy is taking his mother out to lunch for her birthday. An annual tradition he insists on keeping. Not me, I'm staying home and eating (enjoying) bologna and swiss sandwiches on rye, two of them.

Rainbow Trout

Here's a quick video I shot yesterday - 3/13/20

Mask Wearing

Earlier today, I took my wife to Target to pick up a few things, and like I always do, I waited for her in the snack bar. As an added precaution, because I'm on Chemo, I wore a mask.
While I waited, a young woman came up to me and asked me to remove the mask because it was frightening her child. I told her no without explaining why. I guess my one-word response didn't sit well. She stormed off in a huff wearing her obvious disappointment on her face.
Sorry kid, my health is way more important than your hurt feelings. Tell mommy to get you a night-light. Call me what you will, but I'm all about number one - me first!

Federal Government Response to COVID-19

Personally, I am satisfied with the Federal Government (Trump administration) response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Those politicians criticizing the President for his handling of the situation are political opportunists trying to gain favor with their base. Prime example: Rep (D) Nancy Pelosi. She hates Trump so much, she was willing to delay legislation to grant much needed financial resources for prevention and patient care efforts. Luckily for all of us, she was shamed into doing her job, and last night the congress, by a wide majority, passed legislation that still must clear the Senate before it can go to the President for signature. President Trump has signaled he is ready to sign the final version of the Bill. Don't dilly dally, Mitch.

As for the virus, I am "at-risk" as a 62-year-old with underlying health conditions. I receive bi-weekly Chemotherapy treatments for Brain Cancer. My Doctors have said I am 'Immunosuppressed' and must take extra precautions for the foreseeable future.
If you haven't figured it out yet, I have NO respect for politicians who have chosen to use this very serious health crisis as a means of attacking President Trump and his administration. Don't do it.
